Whittemore Prayer Update Happy Chinese New Year. Today is the last of the three day Chinese New Year celebration here in Hong Kong. Most businesses and banks are closed as people take a break and spend time with families, much like our Christmas time in the US. 1. Thank you for praying for Mike. We had time for one follow-up Bible study together a few days before we left on this trip. Mike followed along closely and we left him with a challenge to continue reading some Scriptures that relate to growing in his walk with the Lord. Please pray that he will be faithful to follow through. 2. The time in Dallas with our new Mongolia Team proved to be very profitable. Both couples are expecting new little ones in the summer. Pray for Janelle and Tara during these months of pregnancy and for both couples as they prepare for a fall departure for Mongolia. 3. Because of the Chinese New Year our Sending Center Office here in Hong Kong where we stay has been closed the past three days. This has given us time to adjust to the new time zone here and also to catch up on a backlog of emails in our inbox without interruptions. We thank the Lord for this needed catch-up time. 4. This Friday we head down to Thailand for the China Field annual conference there. Pray especially for the daily workshop sessions on church planting and our part in those as well as interview times with all of our workers throughout the course of the week. The dates of the conference are Jan. 29 to Feb. 4. 5. When we return to Hong Kong later in February we plan to get together with several of our South Asian friends. Pray for Sam and Rannie who have been struggling financially due to the poor business climate. I just spoke with Sam by phone in India this afternoon and he asks for our prayers for God’s clear direction in his current business dealings. Thank you for your partnership with us in ministry through your faithful prayers. We are confident that God hears and answers according to His will. For the least reached, John & Jean Whittemore
PS. Feel free to write us and let us know how we can be praying for you as well.
A number of you have been doing just that. |
