The Mannings were excited to have been using their skills alongside committed Bible translation and literacy teams. As Community Development
Specialists, they had an impotant role in the translation task. Through Community Development they aided both the Africans and the translators
in agriculture, health, sanitation and literacy as a way of bringing the love of Christ to the Senegalese people practically. By assisting communities
to meet there felt needs one gives individuals self-worth and stimulates an openness to Christ and the creation of indigenous churches.

The Mannings returned in August, 2002 from almost 2 full terms in Senegal, West Africa. During the Mannings time overseas, they completed
French language study, a three month African Orientation Course in Cameroon, Africa and 4 years in Senegal, both in the capital (Dakar) and
the bush. They were involved in the construction of a sound studio, serving other members in other areas such as the cashbox and management
of a home schooling library. They worked with New Tribes Mission as guest hosts, as well as, performed a host of other responsibilities to aid
the nationals and missionaries in Africa. The Mannings studied an African trade language known as Wolof for further communication with the
Senegalese nationals during their first term. Dee home schooled the two girls while abroad.

The Mannings have four children; Sarah, age 13; Kelly, age 8 1/2; Timmy, age 6; and Nicholas, almost 5 years old. Presently, the Mannings are
living in Willow Street, PA, attending Grace Church at Willow Valley since January 2003. Tim will be going on a fact finding trip to Cambodia
in mid-january with the personnel director of WBT. It will involve working with ICC (International Cooperation Cambodia), which is an alliance
of 5 Christian agencies, who have been involve with relief and development work in Cambodia since 1991. ICC provides assistance in education,
health, economic development, food security and community development sectors. People are helped in all levels of society in co-operation and
partnership with other agencies in Cambodia. As part of the Christian community, ICC seeks to support fellowship with local Christian and
church organizations. The three oldest children attend the L-S school district at this time.

Please keep praying for the ministry work of the Mannings and especially Tim's fact finding mission to Cambodia. By doing so, you are taking
part in giving God's Word to the Bibleless people around the world.
